Doctor update

August was a busy month full of doctors appointments for Josiah... I can't believe that it has already been 9 months since surgery!!

The first appointment was the worst. The MRI. It is the one-banger, which is a 3 minute MRI. Sounds easy enough right? NO!!! Not only does Josiah hate being strapped down in an MRI machine for 3 minutes, it takes 2 hours of sitting there just to get in to do the thing! So we were so glad to get that over with! We took the mister out for lunch and got a special treat of Jamba Juice for being so brave.

The following week we had the MRI read at Dr. Moss' office. He was pleased to report progress in the amount of fluid drainage, although, not as much as he had hoped. But one can't complain... progress is progress, right!

The third week in August we met with Dr. Ellis. She evaluates Josiah's developmental progress through a variety of little tests and activities that she asks Josiah to do. He has to put a simple puzzle together, put pegs in the corresponding holes, coloring, and a favorite, running down the hall! He did so well she said that we don't need to ever go back as long as we don't have any concerns. He is as normal as you can get! That was exciting news!

Finally, we finished off that week by taking him to see Dr. Kipp, our pediatrician. No shots and a good progress report.. can't get much better than that, can you? Yes....

We left straight from the Dr.'s office to San Diego to celebrate the month's reports and to spend time with Alec, who was in town before he headed off to San Fran to his new post.

It was a really nerve wracking, prayerful month! We are so thankful that Josiah is doing so well!
