Goosed by the Goose!!

Today we took a really fun trip down to the farm to pick up some cheese. Charity and Josiah always love to go and see the animals, so they were very excited to show Grandpa all the fun. We were greeted at the car by a rather rambunctious goose, honking and running toward us. It followed us all around the animals as we looked at the bunnies and the goats. My father in law was definitely getting harassed the most, and kicked his foot toward the goose to shoo her away. Unfortunately it only fired this spunky goose up!! She started nipping at his legs and eventually got a good bite at the top of his leg! As Grandpa tried to shake the crazy goose off she held on all the tighter!! Her legs were swinging around all over and still refused to let go!! He finally fought her off and she followed us around until Farmer Casey came and shooed her away. Charity was in Grandpa's arms the entire time LAUGHING. It was probably the funniest thing that I have ever seen!! The farm is always a fun place for us!! We love visiting. These pictures are from a week ago. Charity was feeding the goats and the horse. She let her fingers get a little too close for comfort to the horse's teeth, but she had a great time.

We are looking forward to heading down to the farm for some Christmas fun as well!

Growing Up!

I'm not exactly sure where the time is going... but is seems to be slipping away right before my eyes! It is almost Christmas... again. And I don't feel like that because I am unprepared... I feel like it was just Christmas. I remember last year so clearly, like it was yesterday! Anyhow, Charity tells me EVERYDAY that she is going to go to school when she is 4 years old. We have been practicing writing her name and continue learning her letters and sounds. I printed out a template for her name from this site. You can customize the writing and even add little graphics for the holidays if you want. She is a perfectionist so the task of writing her name 4 times can last for an hour! She is so smart... and also very stubborn! I'm sure she gets that from Troy (yeah right!!) She has been unusually challenging lately, affirming some decisions that we have made recently (will blog about that later). God is so good that way!

Josiah is growing up so much too! Everything that Charity does, he wants to do! He is a little myna bird. I love that he is communicating so well though. It makes life so much easier when the little guy can tell me what he wants or when something is wrong. We had a really amazing Saturday morning... Mr. did his first poopy in the potty. He was so proud of himself... I'm sure all the hooping and hollering that we did encouraged him a little bit!
So, anyhow, that's all for now... just embracing every moment! Praying that God will give me the strength to be a good mommy and wife. Can't really do it with out Him!!

Moo-Moo Palooza

Today we spent our Veteran's day at the local (down the street) dairy, Superstition Farm. It was the annual "Friday on the Farm" but on a Wednesday... on a holiday when everyone had off school. And boy was it packed! I'm interested in knowing how many people went this year! Any how, we had a great time. We went with our Friends and Auntie O. Everything is great with friends and O!! Charity got a mermaid painted on her face. The kids played in a hay maze, we saw a bunch of goats and a horse. We opted out of the hay ride because there was a million people in line!! Okay, not a million, but it felt like a million when it is 95 degrees in November!! So, in an effort to cool down, we enjoyed some delicious ice cream from Udder Delights and some Shamrock chocolate milk! I can't wait to go back to Udder Delights for more treats!! The ice cream was amazing! The walk home seemed super long after all that time in the sun, but we had a blast!! We'll be back at the farm for our by weekly pick up of dairy products. Our family belongs to the farm food club. Every other week we go down to the farm and pick up fresh butter, milk, cheese, and ice cream. As a bonus, there is always a mystery item, featuring a local business. We have tasted some amazing cookies, a Greek salad, breads, homemade pesto (my personal fav.) and more. I love that our kids are familiar with the farm, and that we contribute to a local business that is both fun and educational!!
