Memorial Weekend

Sometimes this blogs is meant to record meaningful events that change our lives, and sometimes, like today, to record a great day that we simply want to remember because we had so much fun!

Today started out with Troy walking up at 6 and mumbling something like, "What day is it? Do we have to get up?" With the answer being Sunday, we were able to sleep in! Having enjoyed church on Saturday night, Sunday's have become a very restful, family day for us. After the kids got up, we straighted up the house and ate breakfast... Charity's favorites... cheesy eggs, toast and turkey bacon... mmmm! We had originally planned to go to the cabin today, but after taking care of Troy's truck yesterday, we decided that it wasn't the best plan for us, so we alternatively decided to accept an invitation to Bryan Mitchell's house for swimming and lunch. We were all excited, especially Charity, who as we blogged before, is actually part mermaid. She was ready to go at 9:30am with her swim suit on, mermaid tube, noodle, and goggles (purchased yesterday with her own money) in tow We watched a little Veggie Tales while Josiah napped, and then it was time to get ready to go! "Wahoo!" from Charity.

We had an awesome time swimming and splashing around in the pool!! We ate cheese burgers, popcorn (another Charity favorite), chips, fruit, and an array of dessert items to spoil the kids with (and of course the adults too)... cookies, licorice, and ice cream. The kids were pooped by the time we got home. Thank goodness tomorrow is Memorial Day... an extra day off to rest, and we'll probably be swimming again over at Grandma and Papa's house!

Thanks for a great day Bryan!! We love hanging out with you.
